StorHub Expands And Rolls Out Premium Storage Due To Rising Demand| Channel News Asia

Singapore, December 1, 2021 - Channel News Asia recently interviewed the Group Director of Operation of StorHub Singapore, Luigi La Tona, who shared that the pandemic has resulted in a rise in storage space demand. In 2021, StorHub Singapore opened 2 additional self storage facilities to fulfil the storage needs of Singaporeans who reside in Yishun and Kallang Avenue, making storing away their items more convenient than ever before. 2 new StorHub storage facilities are expected to officially open in Serangoon and Toh Guan in the first quarter of 2022. There are nearly 300,000 square feet of storage units in total that StorHub has built in Singapore within a period of one year.

The upsurge in demand for storage space has been observed with more customers making enquiries about StorHub Singapore’s storage spaces and moving in for personal and business use, storing both personal possessions and inventory. Luigi pointed out that the pandemic has resulted in customers storing their items with StorHub for different reasons from pre-pandemic times. Unlike pre-pandemic days, people now view storage units as a need and not just something that would be good to have.

The spike in demand for storage space arises from a range of reasons such as newer homes that are smaller in size, more employees having to work from home as the default mode of work, causing them to run out of space for items like furniture and rarely used things after having carved out a designated workstation. Many others have found themselves putting away items for their hobbies at StorHub or making use of the storage units to temporarily store their belongings during refurbishments of their homes and offices. Foreigners coming back to Singapore from their home countries have turned to StorHub as travel restrictions have prevented them from flying in. Wine storage facilities at Winebanc are also filling up fast with demand increasing by nearly 200 percent. After the global pandemic hit, and as more businesses go digital, StorHub Singapore came up with the idea of a new Lifestyle storage concept that allows customers to enjoy a premium storage environment that offers digital locks, state-of-the-art security and even communal areas.
